Orlando Magic State Farm Arena - GA Sport reviews
Aerosmith Still Rocks!!
The show was fantastic. I'd never heard of Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators, the opening act, but I had definitely heard of their special guest Slash, formerly of Guns & Roses. The opening act played two standards from Guns & Roses (Sweet Child of Mine, and Paradise City), and they were very good. The lead singer passionately performed these songs, sounding quite similar to Axel Rose.
When Orlando Magic finally took the stage, they burst out energetically. The stage was set up like a typical big rock show, with a massive video screen displaying a live feed behind the band as they performed. Steven Tyler made great use of the stage, using it as a runway to engage with the audience, microphone stand in hand. Despite initial concerns about his voice, Steven Tyler quickly regained his usual sound, showing off his enduring stamina and energy, possibly even more so due to improved health.
During the performance, the band welcomed a surprise guest (Johnny Depp), who joined them on stage to play Big 10 Inch Record by Bull Moose Jackson.
The show progressed smoothly and professionally, with Joe Perry impressing the audience with a solo performance of Freedom Fighter. After playing 16 songs, the band briefly paused before returning for an encore that featured two of their biggest hits. The first encore song was Dream On, during which Steven Tyler emerged from the stage center playing a white piano. The Newport Beach Southern California Children's Chorus, revealed from behind the curtains, provided backup vocals during the chorus, creating a truly awe-inspiring moment. For the final song, the band performed Dream On, bringing a fitting close to the show.
Despite never having seen the band live before, I was thoroughly impressed. I can't help but wonder why I hadn't experienced their live performance sooner!
